If you are involved in a car accident, first, make sure you are safe. It’s important to take a breath, look at your surroundings, and make sure that you are in a safe place.
Second, once you are safe, check for injuries. Because of adrenaline, you may not notice that you are injured. Visually look up and down your body and make sure you are able to move. You are also going to need information about your injuries in step 3
Step 3 is Call 911. 911 will dispatch the appropriate police department and they will dispatch emergency medical help. The 911 operator will ask about your injuries and any injuries of others involved in the accident. The better information you provide will help the best possible help respond quickly.
To help our clients, we developed a checklist that you can keep in your glovebox. That way, if you are in a car accident, you have a checklist to go through and a place to write down important information. If you are interested in a checklist, give us a call and we will be happy to mail you one.
