Police are investigating the crash, but have not released information concerning the driver or details of what happened.
Anytime a pedestrian is hit by a vehicle, the results can be devastating. Pedestrians should be diligent in walking in designated areas. However, anyone driving a car near an area where pedestrians might be present has a responsibility to drive safely.
Our firm handles cases where pedestrians are hit by cars. Part of our investigation always includes visiting the scene of the accident, taking photographs of the surrounding area, and reviewing all crosswalks, sidewalks, or other paths designated for pedestrians. We know that in these cases, insurance companies and defense attorneys will often point the finger at the pedestrian and say that the pedestrian was not where he/she was supposed to be. They will argue that it was the pedestrian’s fault. It’s our job, as personal injury attorneys, to not just tell them that they are wrong, but to also show them, with evidence, that our client was not at fault.
