The Divorce Code has different grounds for filing for divorce, and they have different time periods under certain grounds.
In some cases, that provides the respondent the opportunity to delay the divorce, if it benefits that party for some reason. If a party feels that it may benefit him or her to delay the proceedings for some reason, then that’s something that he or she should discuss with legal counsel.
On the other hand, if the other side feels that there is unreasonable delay of divorce, then his or her attorney can provide methods for getting around that as well.
