Head-on-crash in Hempfield Township Result in Fatality

On September 21, 2022, the Pennsylvania State Police reported a head-on-crash that occurred near Middletown Road in Hempfield Township, PA. The Westmoreland County Coroner was called to the scene. Due to the reported fatality, the Pennsylvania State Police will be conducting an investigation to determine that cause of the accident.

In a car accident that results in a death, the responding local police department or the Pennsylvania State Police will conduct an investigation. Part of this investigation will determine who they believe is at fault. Though a judge or jury is not necessarily bound by what the police determine, the highly technical training that police often participate in prior to conducting these investigations make their determination critical in wrongful death cases.  There are private companies that conduct accident recreations. However, unless they are on scene close to the time of the accident, they often will have to rely on evidence gathered by the police to make their own determination.

Car accidents resulting in death are perhaps the most tragic cases our Personal Injury Attorneys handle. The suddenness of a wrongful death creates a void in a family, a workplace, and a community. These cases demand diligence and attention to detail.
