When the weather is nice, Route 30 through Greensburg and Latrobe is a road that riders use a lot. I grew up right off of Route 30 in Latrobe, so I know that in the Summertime, I have to be extra cautious because there will be motorcycles. Unfortunately, other drivers are sometimes careless.
If you are riding a motorcycle and are involved in an accident you should first make sure you are in a safe place. Get off of the road if you can. Next, check for injuries. If you are with someone and they may have head or neck injury, do not try to move them. Then, call 911 and tell them where you are, what happened, and what injuries you believe you or others suffered. This will help 911 to send the appropriate help.
If you are able, you want to collect the other driver’s information, name, insurance card, phone number, and address. You may need that information if they were at fault. Finally, call an attorney that handles motorcycle accident cases in Latrobe or Greensburg. Follow their advice. Speak to an attorney BEFORE you speak with the other driver’s insurance company.
